Local playwright Bernadette Chapman takes us to the ICU in Children’s Hospital overnight. Marie is in the waiting room as her daughter is on the surgical table waiting for her heart transplant. The waiting room grows with worried family members from a teen being shot after his football game and a daughter is rushed in from another overdose. Tensions rise as each family waits on word from the hospital staff and attempts to support each other as they process what the stakes are for their children and families. This play is a tribute to not only Chapman's daughter, Sadie, but also to Cassidy Cochran and her family.

Horton must protect the Whos from a world of naysayers and dangers, and he must also guard an abandoned egg that's been left in his care by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird. Although Horton faces ridicule, danger and a trial, the intrepid Gertrude McFuzz never loses faith in him.  Ultimately, the powers of friendship, loyalty, family and community are challenged and emerge triumphant! Seussical JR. provides wonderful creative opportunities in terms of set design, lighting and costuming and can easily accommodate a large cast of expandable “Seussian” creatures.

In this one session class, Jess of Jenkies Studio will guide you through the basics of using underglaze and creating dimensional illustrations. A bisqued wheel thrown mug or slab built vase will be provided for you to decorate all you need to bring is a couple ideas! July 27 - Sometsuke Mugs (blue and white pottery) August 2 - Multicolored Illustrated Vase After class, clear glaze will be added & your mugs will be fired. Finished pieces will be ready to pick up in about two weeks.

Girls Rock Birmingham camp is returning this summer the week of July 22-27th and we are so excited! Learn an instrument, form a band, write and perform an original song all in one week!

The Camper Showcase will be Saturday, July 27 at 3:00 PM at Cahaba Brewing Co. Campers need to be present at both the weekday camp and the Saturday showcase!

The Saturday showcase will feature each band performing its original song as well as raffle items and other fun surprises! Girls Rock Birmingham merchandise will be available for
purchase. Orbit Salon (2030 11th Ave S) is donating hair and makeup services for the campers. Cahaba Brewing Company is furnishing the performance space and donating a basket for the
raffle.
